About the ORSC

        The ORSC is registered as a professional society in China in 1980. ORSC became one of the national members of International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) in 1982. It is also one of the founding members of the Association of Asian Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS) and hosted two APORS triennial conference in 1991 in Beijing and 2012 in Xi'an. ORSC office is set in Beijing, the capital of China. It has more than 2000 registered members in its 16 special interest groups including mathematical programming, graphs and combinatorics optimization, game theory and applications, corporate OR, reliability, industrial data-oriented optimization, operational management, and behavior OR et. al.

       The Operations Research Society of China convenes national congress every two years usually in October. About a thousand participants attending the national meeting presenting their latest research findings. Currently, ORSC publishes two journals in Chinese: OR transaction (4 issues/year) and OR/MS (monthly) receiving papers written in Chinese, and an English Journal of ORSC published with Springer (quarterly, EI) http://www.springer.com/mathematics/applications/journal/40305 This new English journal aims to a world-standard one in OR related theories and solutions. The ORSC calls for excellent original papers from authors in world OR communities.

       The current president of ORSC (2021-2024) is Prof. Yu-Hong Dai from Chinese Academy of Sciences. Representative to the IFORS is Prof. Xiaodong Hu (xdh@amss.ac.cn).
